University of Maryland, Mtech launch new online Master of Professional Studies in Product Management

To prepare students for one of the fastest-growing and most lucrative jobs available in today’s economy, the University of Maryland’s Maryland Technology Enterprise Institute (Mtech) is launching a new online Master of Professional Studies (MPS) in Product Management.

Rated #3 in Glassdoor Inc.’s Best Jobs in America for 2021, with an average annual U.S. salary of $110,570, and a 29 percent annual growth in job openings, product managers are in demand.

The MPS in Product Management prepares aspiring and active product managers, program managers, project managers, marketing managers, or product directors for successful careers by giving them valuable and timely skill sets to direct the entire product lifecycle.

    Students in the program will:

    • Understand the keys to successfully navigating the roles and responsibilities of being a product manager to champion change with internal and external collaborators and influencers.

    • Learn how to truly know the target customer and the customers’ underserved needs, the value proposition, product feature set, and user experience, then integrate this knowledge into product and market requirements and positioning plans.

    • Translate product ideas into tangible assets by creating wireframes, 3D renderings, prototypes, and minimum viable products (MVPs) to test assumptions and validate customer interests.

    • Develop techniques for designing and modeling for fast feedback and idea sharing, system optimization with open architectures, validating functions and verifying performance, and leveraging and enabling system designs, platforms, and ecosystems.

    • Embrace modern product leadership to form and motivate product teams, and grow organizations that can both discover and deliver products at scale.

The MPS in Product Management features an experiential learning model that incorporates live and recorded online classes, immersive coursework, and high student-faculty engagement.

To learn how to earn this master's degree online in only 15-months, with an affordable tuition of approximately $23,500, visit https://mppm.umd.edu.
