Maryland Industial Partnerships (MIPS) Program Brochure
The Maryland Industrial Partnerships (MIPS) program accelerates the commercialization of technology in Maryland by jointly funding collaborative R&D projects between companies and University System of Maryland faculty. MIPS provides funding, matched by participating companies, for university-based research projects that help companies develop new products. MIPS projects help companies find solutions to technical challenges, as well as develop products, processes or training materials. MIPS projects are conducted by university faculty and graduate students in conjunction with company researchers.

Bioprocessing Research and Education (BREP) Brochure
Mtech's Biotechnology Research and Education Program (BREP) is designed to bolster Maryland's burgeoning biotechnology industry. To that end, BREP offers bioprocessing facilities and services, graduate degree programs, training and consulting for Maryland companies. The program's Bioprocess Scale-Up Facility (BSF) has biological product scale-up and production capabilities for fermentation, cell culture, separation, purification and analysis. Facility staff have addressed challenging problems with biopolymers, turbulence and multiphase fluid dynamics, biosensors, process analysis and control, and both metabolic and biochemical engineering.

The VentureAccelerator program helps University of Maryland inventors get their research out of the starting blocks and racing down the track toward successful venture creation. Our experienced team of business professionals enables you to maintain your academic responsibilities as faculty, research staff, or student, while also furthering the development of your startup. Since 1984, UMMAP has provided critical solutions to help Maryland manufacturers grow and become more competitive. A program of Mtech at the University of Maryland, UMMAP is a cost-effective, objective resource. As Maryland’s affiliate of the federal NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership, UMMAP draws upon a national network of solution providers, as well as the expertise of the entire University System of Maryland.
Hinman CEOs Program Brochure
As the nation’s first living-learning entrepreneurship program, Hinman CEOs is a groundbreaking initiative placing entrepreneurially-minded students from all technical and non-technical academic disciplines in a unique community. Students live together, learn about entrepreneurship, and can launch new ventures. The mission of Hinman CEOs is to foster an entrepreneurial spirit, create a sense of community and cooperation, and develop ethical leaders. All undergraduates from the University of Maryland, College Park are invited to apply for this competitive program. Brian Hinman, University of Maryland A. James Clark School of Engineering alumnus and successful entrepreneur, provided $2.5M to initiate and support the Program.
