MIPS Schedule

Below is the latest schedule of events and deadlines pertaining to MIPS funding rounds.

Availability of application package	February 1, 2012
MIPStrack accounts available	April 2, 2012
Proposal deadline due at MIPS office	May 1, 2012
Evaluation Board selections	June 21, 2012
Executed agreements returned to MIPS	July 19, 2012

Schedule for Execution of MIPS Agreements

In order for the university to meet its commitments, including hiring of students for projects, we require companies to meet the above deadline for signing and returning contracts to MIPS.

MedImmune’s Synagis drug prevents a serious respiratory disease in infants and children. MIPS has jointly funded six different research projects with MedImmune, including three directly related to Synagis, since 1996. MIPS “helped in [the] structural testing of Synagis lots,” said MedImmune scientist Dr. John Hope in a post-project report. “The process for which the MIPS grant assisted in development of is still being used at MedImmune for testing Synagis and related glycoproteins.” Total sales for Synagis since 1998 exceed $7 billion.
