As director of Mtech’s expansive Office of Business, Finance, and Facilities, Daniel Carafelli oversees wide-ranging operations and a diverse portfolio of financial and capital assets. He holds a concurrent academic appointment as a senior research fellow in the Supply Chain Management Center at the University’s Robert H. Smith School of Business where his research focus is aviation, transportation, and the built environment. Dan’s broad executive experience encompasses all aspects of university finance, administration, and operations. During his lengthy tenure at Maryland he has directed major operations, led significant information technology projects, and played a prominent role in developing and managing the built environment. Prior to joining Mtech he held leadership positions with the campus Department of Transportation Services, University Facilities Management, and Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute. Dan holds numerous professional credentials and is a three-time graduate of the University of Maryland University College. He is also an accomplished and published photographer.
