ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONALS IN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

Certified Business Manager

Daniel J. Carafelli, CBM, C.P.M.

Developed and sponsored by the Association of Professionals in Business Management (APBM), the Certified Business Manager (CBM) designation validates the mastery of business management knowledge, skills and abilities. The CBM credential represents the highest level of professional qualification in the field of business and management and is equivalent to a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree in scope and level of difficulty.

Based on the standard MBA curriculum with additional material covering e-business, international business, information technology and corporate control and governance, the CBM designation is achieved through the successful completion of a series of difficult and demanding examinations covering the full spectrum of business management. The CBM capstone exam requires the integration of the entire business body of knowledge while conducting a comprehensive written analysis of a Harvard Business School case study.

Designed to be the ultimate professional credential for senior general management, the Certified Business Manager program requires the intellectual and applied mastery of all aspects of business management. Unlike other graduate level business programs, the CBM requires the maintenance and advancement of professional knowledge and capabilities through mandatory continuing education.

Certified Associate Business Manager

Karen L. Russo, CABM
Candace P. Thornton, CABM

Developed and sponsored by the Association of Professionals in Business Management (APBM), the Certified Associate Business Manager (CABM) designation is an undergraduate level professional certification based on a pre-MBA business curriculum. The CABM designation provides a solid foundation for those seeking either an MBA degree or the Certified Business Manager (CBM) credential.

The CABM designation is awarded to individuals who meet the eligibility requirements and pass the 4-hour, one-part exam. The CABM validates the mastery of fundamental business management principles and is ideal for anyone considering an MBA or CBM, new business professionals beginning careers in one of the business specialty areas and those with undergraduate degrees in areas other than business who wish to pursue a career in business and management.

To insure the maintenance of knowledge acquired in the CABM process, annual continuing education is required of all CABM credential holders.
